Dusser Group supports special needs community with assistive tech and laptops
We are pleased to share developments from the past week regarding the Dusser Group’s community engagement and commitment to supporting high-impact organizations.
Our recent initiatives focused on enhancing the lives and promoting the independence of disabled students and young adults.
Last Thursday, the Dusser Group team, including Orsi Banai and Miki Bahil, successfully handed over an essential piece of equipment to the Csillagház Primary School (https://csillaghaz.com).
We consulted with the school principal to formulate a specific and impactful request. The school required an adjustable exercise machine designed for adolescents with physical and multiple disabilities.
The school’s statement on the device's impact:
"We are applying for an exercise machine designed for adolescents, which can be adapted to the user in all parameters, for the physically disabled and multiply injured students of Csillagház. This device ensures that children who are unable to stand independently can maintain this position safely for longer periods of time. It can prevent bone density loss resulting from inactivity and maintain normal circulation and proper functioning of internal organs. It stretches shrunken muscles and joints. It frees up the hands, making participation in activities and classwork more effective. It gives the child the experience of being at eye level with their peers and the adults who help them, and they will have a completely different spatial experience, opening up the world to them. This, together with the correct position of the lower limbs and pelvis, helps the spine to function properly and improves posture. The Csillagház's machines are 26 years old, outdated, and beyond repair. A new machine can help new generations develop their motor skills, participate effectively in school life, and develop their self-identity and independence."
The handover was successful, and a young student was immediately able to utilize the new machine. We also used the opportunity to tour the school and engage in discussions regarding the situation of the students, teachers, and the institution. The acquisition of this machine is a source of great benefit for both the teachers and the children.
Technology donation to the Nem Adom Fel Foundation
Also last week, Dusser Group delivered several of the group's retired laptops—which remain fully suitable for everyday use—to the Nem Adom Fel Foundation (https://nemadomfel.hu).
Andrea Gál, the Foundation’s Head of Fundraising and Volunteering, welcomed Orsi Banai with great warmth. Ms. Gál generously provided a tour and detailed insight into the Foundation's vital work, including the Nem Adom Fel café, which employs young people with disabilities, predominantly those with Down syndrome. Orsi was also given a view into the daily operations of their residential homes.
Dusser Group is proud to contribute technology that will further support the Foundation's mission of fostering independent living and employment for young adults with altered working abilities. We highly value these collaborations and the meaningful experiences they provide.
We remain committed to supporting organizations that make a significant positive difference in the lives of those in our community.
